Get Behind It Or Get Lost! Up & Coming: Martin Brown

Martin Brown is an Aspiring fashion photographer, He currently attends The University of West Georgia.Fashion is not only his inspiration, the culture is techincally embodied in him and it shows in his work. Check out his blog at http://modofotoconfessional.blogspot.com ...Peep our interview Below

1. What do you love so much about the fashion Industry?
I love the fashion industry for it's belief on looking forward and never looking back. It is an industry that is based on the future, and looking on to the past on for reference and inspiration. Anna Wintour says that "There is something about fashion that makes people nervous." I believe that fashion is something that not everyone can get into, and that it is an extreme of reality, in which the opinions dictate an individual, not the other way around.

2.What Is Your Ideal Job?
My ideal job is to be the go-to fashion photographer of the industry. Becoming the next Steven Meisel, and regularly shoot for the more avant-garde fashion magazines, such as i-D, Purple, Vogue Paris, Vogue Italia, and Numero.

3.Where do you want to be in the next 5 years?
In five years, I see myself in New York, merely starting out as a fashion photography assistant to a big name brand, such as Vogue, or Saks, or a major designer brand such as Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent, or Dior.

4.What seperates you from other photographers?
What seperates me from the other photographers is knowing how to make a person more beautiful than they appear in reality. I understand what lighting can benefit the person's look in a photo, as well as know what angle, in conjunction to the lighting, can make a person look their absolute best. Photography was a means of an outlet to the monotony of everyday life. Photography is used as an outlet to bring fantasy into reality, even if only for a short period of time.

5.What message or emotion do you try to convey in your pictures?
The emotion I try to convey in my pictures is something of ethereal quality to my photo. The message I want to show is the romanticism that I feel is lost today. I want to show people that this is indeed a talent, and a passion that I have, and that this is not a mere "pick up a digital camera and shoot" thing.

6.Who are your favorite photagraphers?
My favorite photographers are Steven Meisel, Mert & Marcus, Inez & Vindooh, Camilla Akrans, Sølve Sundsbø, and sometimes David Sims.

7.Who are your favorite designers?
My favorite designers are, Dior, Balenciaga, Dries van Noten, Givenchy, especially Givenchy Haute Couture, Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent, sometimes Prada, Balmain, especially the last two seasons, Viktor & Rolf, Alexander Wang, Valentino Haute Couture, especially from the last season, Rick Owens, and Lanvin.

8.Do you have any upcoming shoots?
always have an upcoming shoot, I am always busy. I have been in this spell of doing beauty shoots since early last month, and I think I am loving it. I do have a shoot called "Lip Service" that I am planning, and on other fashion shoot called "Ange ou Demon," which is a play on the angel versus demon tale, but has a more sexual inuendo than something more religious based, it is going to be my calling card, hopefully my first shoot submitted for Vogue Paris.

9.Where can people view your work & hire you for possible jobs?
People can view my work at www.dripbook.com/martinmarrone. It is currently a work-in-progress, but once it is finished, I'll keep you posted.
