Myra Shavon Lee 28, year old Clark Atlanta University senior, film Mass Communication Major. Her hobbies include writing poetry, short stories, reading everything including the Bible, romance, scifi, mystery and black history. She is a native of Pine Bluff Arkansas and a alumni of Pine Bluff High School class of 1999. She is the youngest child of Ruth Lee and has one brother, one sister, four nephews, one niece, and one great niece. In high school she was a active band member (trombone player) for six years, a FBA member (Future Business Leaders of America), Spanish club member and a Poetry Club member. Mrs. Lee states," I was a clown, I laughed and had lots of friends but I did not appreciate, know and love myself, because if I did, I would have invested more into me."I did not think that dreams came true, I did not believe in myself." "No one told me that the power to change the world was inside of me, no one, I believed I was what people labeled me," A product of a broken home, destined a life of factory work.." Before, enrolling at Clark Atlanta University Mrs. Lee attended SEARK (Southeast Arkansas College) majoring in nursing, she has always dreamed of becoming a Registered Airforece nurse and eventually a Medical Doctor.
After, working in a hospital Myra admits to being utterly miserable surrounded by death, and feeling that she was out of since with her destiny. She knew the rigid schedule and tough choice doctors made daily about life and death would drain and eventually crush her spirit. Although, her life was changed by the many people she encountered there, she knows that is not where she belongs. Myra state's that watching someone die was one life's greatest motivators to live, nothing reminds you of the gift of life, health and the ability to love, like death. After, many prayers and advisers she drove from Pine Bluff Arkansas to Atlanta Georgia, alone to attend Clark. The desire to write and create has always been a Major driving force in her life. She has published four poems and dreams of writing several books and films soon.
Immediately, Myra plans to study for the LSAT and enter law school she wants to one day create a school for young African-American inner city youth with her husband to teach them the importance of who they are and who their ancestor's are, and the debit they owe to those who died for the lives we live today. Myra also plans to work with poor black and Hispanic communities and educate them about finances, home loans and education. Eventually, she plans enter politics and affect the nation.
